They say Canada has two seasons winter and July, well it’s almost July and that means Canada Day is upon us! It’s the one day of the year where we shamelessly celebrate what it means to be Canadian. Whether it’s our impeccable manners or our love of Tims being Canadian is something special so it’s only right that we celebrate Canada’s Birthday in the most Canadian ways possible.

Here are the top 5 things to do this Canada Day:

1. Hiking

With mountains literally in our backyards it’s hard to argue that Canada isn’t one of the most beautiful places in the world and home to the most incredible natural landscapes. From coast-to-coast and various levels of intensity Canada’s hiking trails are hands down the best. This Canada Day find the trail that’s calling your name. Go on take your pick and see the amazing beauty that is Canada from these Gorgeous Hiking Routes Across Canada.

2. BBQ

Okay, one of the best parts about Canada Day has got to be the amazing food and amazing times spend with friends and family. Nothing says good food and good times better than an old fashion Canadian BBQ. From burgers, to steaks to hot dogs to jokes about how short our summers are, BBQ’s are a great way to connect with loved ones and revel about what it truly means to be Canadian. I mean what’s more Canadian than sitting around a camp fire with good friends, being one with nature and making amazing memories! 4. Parades

One of the best things about Canada Day has got to be the parades. From the floats to the parade dancers to the abundant amount of Canadian flags swirling in the air. Really think about it, all across Canada people of all ages and backgrounds come together to celebrate a country that unites and accepts everyone, what’s more Canadian than that. So, prop up your Focal Mogo Seat, sit back relax and enjoy the parade.

I know this isn’t kosher, haha, but we went on a hot air balloon ride on Canada day! We’d actually waited several months for a “go-ahead” flight, but it worked out that it was Canada Day, because it was my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary. A young couple got engaged on the flight, too!
