If you’re just really not sure where to start with this whole ergonomics business, this is the course for you. This introductory course gives you an excellent overview of the concept, as well as practical tips on how to implement ergonomics in your workspace. It includes two modules overall – office ergonomics training and ergo self-adjustment. In the first module, you’ll learn a thorough definition of ergonomics, why it’s important and the risk factors that can lead to musculoskeletal disorders from improper ergonomics. You’ll also learn about specific body parts that are often affected in this area, including the shoulders, eyes, neck, back, arms, wrists, hands and legs. Each body part section will describe risk factors for the area, as well as specific ways to reduce said risk factors.
In module two, ergo self-adjustment, you’ll be asked questions regarding yourself and your workspace so that you can receive personalized recommendations on how you should set-up your desk. In other words, this introductory course has everything you need to get started today!

It starts off with a simple definition of this equipment and a description of the different types of desks available (full desk or desktop conversion) and of the choices of adjustment mechanisms (electric, crank or counter balance). Then we get into the meat of the course, the information you’ve all been waiting for: sit-stand desk set-up! You are walked through optimal set-up for a sitting position, a standing position and your reach zone. The course then finishes off with some additional tips, including how often you should rotate positions, what types of accessories you can use with a sit-stand desk and other ways to get in movement breaks at work.
